Two-Hour Beginner Flying Lesson

$349.00

Two hours at Van Nuys Airport, and about seventy minutes of it with your hands on the controls. Before that you sit down with your instructor for half an hour and learn what the yoke, the rudder pedals and the throttle do, so the flying makes sense when it starts. The lesson is logged, and the time counts toward a private pilot certificate.

You fly a Cessna 162 Skycatcher or a Piper Warrior PA-28-161, depending on what is on the ramp that morning. The Skycatcher is a hundred-horsepower two-seater with a Garmin G300 glass panel. The Warrior is a four-seat low wing with a hundred and sixty. Both are what our students fly on day one.
