This is our private pilot course brochure and rate sheet, published as a page rather than a file behind a sign-up form. Every figure in it, from the three packages to the hourly rates and payment plans, comes from the same price data our booking pages use. Read it here, print it, or save it as a PDF for your records. No email address needed.

What Is In The Brochure
Four sections, each of which prints on its own sheet: the packages and what each one contains, the aircraft and hourly rates, the payment plans, and the requirements with our contact details. The rest of this page, including the questions at the end, stays on screen and does not print.
If the button does nothing on your device, use your browser's print command (Ctrl+P on Windows, Cmd+P on a Mac) and choose "Save as PDF" as the printer.
Private Pilot Packages At A Glance
Every private pilot program is customizable. The Standard, Comprehensive and Premium packages fly the Cessna 162 Skycatcher and the Piper PA-28 Warrior at the standard rate. Want to train in the Cirrus SR22 Turbo? Add it to any package at +$400 per hour, for as many hours as you choose. Books and training materials are included in all three.
| Package | Price | Flight Hours | Payment Plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $10,400 | 40 | $2,500 down + 4 × $1,975/mo |
| Comprehensive (most popular) | $15,400 | 60 | $2,500 down + 6 × $2,150/mo |
| Premium (most flight time) | $22,000 | 80 | $2,500 down + 10 × $1,950/mo |
| Package | Aircraft | Full-Motion Simulator | Instruction |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | 38 hrs single-engine at $179/hr | 2 hrs at $120/hr | 30 hrs dual, 3 hrs ground and briefings, at $110/hr |
| Comprehensive | 55 hrs single-engine at $179/hr | 5 hrs at $120/hr | 50 hrs dual, 10 hrs ground and briefings, at $110/hr |
| Premium | 70 hrs single-engine at $179/hr | 10 hrs at $120/hr | 60 hrs dual, 20 hrs ground and briefings, at $110/hr |
The FAA minimum is 40 hours of flight time under 14 CFR 61.109. The package you choose depends mostly on how often you can fly: the private pilot license cost page explains why frequency, more than anything else, decides whether 40 hours is realistic.

These are package rates: the hourly value of each item inside a course bought as a block. A package buys a defined amount of aircraft time, instruction, ground and simulator up front, on a payment plan. Every aircraft rate we publish is a package rate, and all of them are on the flight school rates page. If you would rather fly lesson by lesson, call or text (818) 330-1318 to talk it through; the trade-off is explained on block time versus pay as you go. The airplanes themselves are described on the airplanes you will fly.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are The Package Prices Fixed?
The package price covers the hours, instruction, simulator time and materials listed in it. If you need more flying than the package includes, additional time is billed by the hour at the published rates. The private pilot license in Los Angeles page explains how to choose between the packages.
What Is Not Included?
Costs paid to other people: your FAA medical examination, the FAA knowledge test fee, the examiner's fee for the checkride, and a headset if you want your own. Our page on the hidden costs of flight training lists them.
Is There A PDF Version?
This page is the brochure. The print button, or your browser's print command, saves the brochure section as a PDF, each of its four sections starting on a new page, with the site menus and this page's extras left out.
How Often Do The Rates Change?
Every figure here comes from the same price data as our booking pages, and when a rate changes we update this page. Check the date at the top of any printed copy.
Does The Discovery Flight Count Toward The Course?
Yes. Enroll within 24 hours of your discovery flight and the full price is credited toward your training.
